Improve posture and decrease back pain with this corrective and restorative yoga class.

**CLASS FULL

5 week preregistered series - $96 + HST
Sundays starting September 16th from 7:30pm-8:30pm (no class Oct 13th)

Yoga For A Healthy Back is for people living with back discomfort. 

  • During this five week specialized series, we will introduce exercises for the spine and discuss your concerns and spinal issues. You will have the opportunity to get familiar with the spinal anatomy, and together we will find ways to improve the mobility, flexibility and strength of your back. 

  • Additionally, we will work towards improving your posture by observing the spine's natural curves to help prevent slouching and improve our overall well-being.

This class series is available to all levels, including those who are brand-new to yoga.

About the Instructor:

Yulia Braun has been studying yoga since 1997. She received her formal training at Esther Myers yoga studio, where she wrote her final paper exploring the subject of Improving the Posture and Spinal Health. She is living with Rheumatoid Arthritis and managing it through yoga and a lifestyle that helps her to stay happy and healthy.

Introducing Teen PILATES at Continuum Wellness

  • Pilates is fun, safe and effective for all ages, and you know what they say... good habits start young!

  • Enjoy using a wide array of props such as balls, weights, balance cushions, flex bands and fitness circles... it’s always a fun and fresh class and you won’t get bored! The many benefits of Pilates include: improved posture, strength, tone, flexibility, balance, body awareness and coordination. Pilates can also help you improve performance in your sport!

  • Practice with your friends after school in our next 6 week session every Thursday at 4:15, beginning September 26. Pre-registration is required.

Intro To Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series
5 week preregistered - $108.48 incl HST
Sundays starting May 6th - June 3rd from 10:15am-11:15 am

This is an opportunity to learn Ashtanga Yoga from instructor Brent Scrivner.  Brent is highly experienced in the Ashtanga tradition and has received training from prestigious Ashtanga teachers in Canada, the United States and in Mysore, India.

Each class is designed to make the poses of the Primary Series accessible to each practitioner's individual needs. Modifications and hands-on adjustments will be provided when helpful. You will also learn the three tools of deepening your awareness that make Ashtanga such a powerful practice: breath, bandha (energetic seals in the body), and your looking focus (drishti).

Brent believes in making the practice of Ashtanga accessible to all students by promoting clear alignment principles and encouraging curiosity in the poses.
